State police determine no abduction occurred in connection to stopped vehicle in Botetourt County


BOTETOURT COUNTY (WSLS 10) – State police stopped on Interstate 81 in Botetourt County on Monday afternoon in connection to a possible abduction out of Michigan.

Based on interviews conducted during the course of the investigation, state police have determined no abduction occurred and there will be no charges placed in Virginia.

At 10:49 a.m., state police followed up on an initial report from Michigan law enforcement concerning a possible abduction of a woman by a tractor-trailer driver..

Police stopped the vehicle without incident at the 149 mile marker where they determined the driver and passenger were acquaintances and she was traveling with him on her own volition.
