Man charged in connection to Roanoke County burglary

ROANOKE COUNTY (WSLS 10) -  Roanoke County police have arrested a 44-year-old Roanoke man in connection to a burglary that happened last week.

Police charged Mark Andrew Edwards with one count of breaking and entering and one count of grand larceny on October 13.

Detectives were conducting follow-up investigations related to the string of south County burglaries.

Edwards was known to the detectives for being wanted on an arrest warrant for larceny from the city of Roanoke and once he was recognized in a vehicle, the vehicle was stopped and police arrested him on the city warrant.

Later, police say that property found in the vehicle was connected to a burglary that had occurred on Cotton Hill Road earlier in the day.

Police are investigating whether or not Edwards is connected to other burglaries in the area.
