Hokies prepare to weather the storm

BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10 SPORTS) - After allowing 561 yards of total offense to Syracuse in their loss Saturday, the Hokies know there is no time to feel bad for themselves with a short week and a quick turnaround with Miami coming Thursday.

"Don't have much time to dwell on that, got to move forward. It's the same message we would have had had we won the ball game. We have to turn the page and get ready to go, we have a really talented Miami team coming into town. It should be a great atmosphere on Thursday night," Fuente said.

Hokies defensive end Woody Baron agree. "I think we've done a good job thinking the next game is coming upon us and the next team doesn't feel bad for us. We had to do the same thing after the Bristol game, our previous loss, just moving forward and approaching the next week and trying to get a 'W'."

Miami has won three of the last four contests with Virginia Tech and with new head coach Mark Richt, they are 4-2 with only losses to Florida State and UNC.

"We've got a big time opponent coming in here that's wounded after two losses back to back that in order for them to get back in the mix they have to do well. It's like a wounded animal that's backed into a corner, they're going to play their best football," said defensive coordinator Bud Foster.

Kickoff is Thursday at 7pm in Lane Stadium.
