2 in Custody, Accused of Shooting at State Trooper in Highway Chase

WVIR – LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - Two people are in police custody Saturday accused of shooting at a Virginia State Trooper during a high-speed chase on Interstate 64 in Louisa County.

This all started around 3:30 p.m. when a trooper tried to stop a speeding a Honda Civic on westbound Interstate 64.

Police say the female driver took off, reaching speeds above 100 mph.

State police say a male passenger in the car started shooting at the trooper during the chase, hitting the cruiser twice.

The trooper was not injured.

The driver and passenger were arrested when their car crashed near the Shannon Hill exit.

Charges are pending.
