Roanoke community gets involved, outside, and active at Go Fest

ROANOKE, VA (WSLS 10) - Roanoke's Go Outside Festival is underway at River's Edge Sports Complex.

Go Fest features races, demonstrations, stunt shows, and other outdoor activities.  The event also features some of the newest camping and biking products.

More than 30,000 people are expected to attend by the end of the weekend. Organizers say the event aims to get people involve, outside, and active.

"Roanoke loves the outdoors," said volunteer Maureen Wilson. "I'm actually a transplant from Florida, so moving up here, I have met so many outdoors-focused people. Everybody is about loving recreation and getting to try things out."

Go Fest continues until 5:00 p.m. Sunday.
