(WSLS 10) - Radford University holds Inauguration events today for its new president. Dr. Brian Hemphill was named the seventh president. An Investiture Ceremony takes place this morning starting at 10 a.m., followed by a campus-wide BBQ. Hemphill came to Radford from West Virginia State University where he served as President. He took over as president on July 1st after the retirement of previous president Dr. Penelope Kyle.

A ribbon cutting takes place today for a new brewery and taproom in Bedford. Beale's Brewery and BBQ is renovating an old woolen mill. The Bedford County Economic Development Authority and Office of Economic Development received a $600,000 grant to renovate the building. Beale's is expected to open next summer.

The Commonwealth Transportation Board holds a public meeting today about transportation projects. Meetings are taking place across the state to prioritize project. At today's meeting at the Salem Civic Center, you will be given a chance to give feedback about the projects proposed. Another meeting takes place in our area in Lynchburg on November 29th.

The Region 2000 Technology Council holds its annual dinner and awards night in Lynchburg. Awards will be given out for Innovator, Entrepreneur, STEM Educator and Technology Company of the Year.
