Mass. woman’s mother’s ashes stolen

BROCKTON, Mass. (NECN) – A woman from Brockton, Massachusetts, is heartbroken after someone stole her mother’s ashes.

Carolyn Parker says the ashes were stolen from her glove compartment.

“I think when they saw this they thought they hit the mother-load and took off with it,” Parker said.

The theft happened sometime overnight Monday while Parker’s Jeep was parked in her driveway.

Paker says she already buried most of her 71-year-old mom’s ashes with her grandfather, but she says she had plans for the rest of them, possibly making a necklace with her son’s ashes. He died a year and a half ago.
