Man charged after accidentally shooting gun in Martinsville store

MARTINSVILLE (WSLS 10) - A man is charged after accidentally opening fire at a store in Martinsville.

It happened Tuesday afternoon at Martinsville Flooring.

Police say 64-year-old Vaughn Draper is charged with reckless handling of a firearm.

Employees say they thought someone was trying to steal from the store.

Police say one of the employees approached the individual with his pistol. That employee accidentally shot a bullet which hit the floor.

All three people inside were hit with debris but none of the injuries are life threatening.
