Gross' Orchard gears up for 26th Annual Apple Harvest Festival

BEDFORD (WSLS 10) - Gross' Orchard is gearing up for its 26th Annual Apple Harvest Festival this Saturday.

The orchard owner said Saturday's event is by far their biggest event of the year. A crowd of more than 5,000 people are expected to come out.

Workers have been busy setting up and preparing for the 26 food, craft and music vendors. This year the orchard will offer free buggy rides and apple butter making lessons.

The owners told us this tradition started in remembrance of a family member.

"The first year or so, you know, we probably had about 50 people and every year it has just grown after that," said the owner's daughter Kathy Barger. "It's gotten much bigger than we ever dreamed, but we still do it in memory of [my grandfather]."

The festival is free and starts this Saturday at 8 a.m.
