DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - As communities start to assess the damage left behind from Hurricane Matthew, God's Pit Crew is responding in a big way.

Volunteers delivered three truckloads of supplies to Conway, S.C. on Monday, while additional volunteers loaded up four more trucks in Danville.

By Wednesday, more than 300,000 pounds of relief from Southside Virginia will be in the hands of storm victims in North and South Carolina.

"We have responded to so much this year between West Virginia and Louisiana that was flooded twice and all the other areas that we have been to. Of course, our resources are getting spread pretty thin so we just really need the help of folks out there," Randy Johnson said, GPC founder.

On top of sending supplies, a crew of volunteers will leave Danville on Thursday to help with debris clean-up in Conway.
