By Eryn Rogers – TOWNVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – Authorities released 911 tapes from the Townville Elementary School shooting Tuesday afternoon. The tapes were released nearly two weeks after the shooting terrorized the Townville community.

Two different teachers called 911 while the school was on lockdown.

In the first few seconds you hear one caller say, "We have an active shooter. We have a child down."

The caller goes on to say that nobody in the school knows the teen gunman. The callers say the gunman never stepped inside the school, and "He just opened up the first grade door and started shooting."

The tapes are extremely emotional. The caller and people in the background are crying, and Jacob Hall's injuries are detailed.

"We have somebody with a wrap holding his legs." The operator asks, "Is he conscious?" The caller responds, "He's going in and out of consciousness."

The calls also give a glimpse into a selfless teacher trying to help.

"The teacher does have a wound on her. She keeps saying she's ok. I see something on your jacket." Dispatch then asks the caller if the teacher has been shot. "Yes, it looks like there's a bullet in her jacket. It didn't go through her but it hit her hard enough."

The callers talk about the other child who was shot in the foot and tell dispatchers the teen gunman was wearing all black and crashed his truck into the fence. Then, they say he did something unusual.

"When we were trying to get all the children in, he was standing right behind kids, and he threw his arms up, and he was just saying he gave up, he gave up, and all the kids were trying to run in."

That was before the firefighter subdued the gunman and law enforcement was able to detain him.

The teen gunman is being charged with two counts of murder: one for Jacob Hall and the other because the teen is accused of killing his dad before the school shooting. He's also facing three counts of attempted murder for the other victims inside the school and five counts of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
