(WSLS 10) - The Salvation Army of Lynchburg will hold a supply drive today, collect items for those in the path of Hurricane Matthew. The group will collect items like water, paper products, canned food and cleaning supplies. A drop off site will be set up today from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Sam's Club on Wards Road.

Bedford County Fire and Rescue and the American Red Cross are teaming up to make sure everyone is prepared in case of a fire. The groups will offer free smoke alarms to people living in Bedford County. They will even install them. To get your smoke alarm, contact Bedford County Fire and Rescue.  To sign up, call 540-587-0700 and select option 7.
