ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - One Roanoke seventh grader is giving back to the community.
Zoe Larson-Harris recently turned 12 and instead of asking for birthday gifts, she requested her guests bring dog and cat food, treats and toys.

On Monday, she donated the nearly 25 items to Angels of Assisi.
"We got a dog from another shelter, but a rescue dog and so, I want to help the dogs and cats from the rescue places," explained Zoe.
She said she wanted to donate to Angels of Assisi to help the other dogs who are still waiting to find their forever homes.
