Danville police say that 52-year-old Allen Jakson Sr., of Danville, is the man who died on Friday afternoon after being hit by a car on Riverside Drive.
Police released his identity on Monday and say the investigation remains ongoing.

DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - A person is dead after being hit by a vehicle on Friday afternoon.
At 1:25 p.m., a pedestrian on River Drive, near James Road, was hit and killed.
Emergency personnel are working the incident and the roadway is restricted.
The investigation is ongoing.
The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
