Two students hospitalized after Franklin County school bus runs off the road

FRANKLIN COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Two students were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a school bus ran off the road in Franklin County on Friday afternoon.

It happened at the intersection of Route 122 and Black Rock Road, according to Franklin County Schools Superintendent Dr. Mark Church.

An 11-year-old boy was transported for minor injuries and a 15-year-old was taken by a family member to Franklin Memorial Hospital.

The bus ran off the road into a ditch at about 3:49 p.m., according to state police.

Police stated that the bus did not overturn

The other 41 students, bus driver and bus aide aboard reported no injuries to officers at the scene.

At this point, all students have either been picked up by their guardians at the scene or have been taken to their home.

State police is investigating the incident.
