Arrests made in connection to stolen vehicles and burglaries in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - Lynchburg police have arrested three people, two of them juveniles, in connection with multiple burglaries and car thefts during September and October.

Police say four burglaries occurred during the early morning hours of October 4 at the Country Place townhomes on Lakeside Drive. There were also three stolen vehicles reported during the month of September 2016 in the Rivermont Avenue area.

As a result of these ongoing investigations, three suspects were identified and subsequently arrested or have juvenile Petitions pending. They are as follows:

The first suspect, a 16-year-old, is charged with three counts of auto theft, four counts of burglary and four counts of grand larceny.

The second suspect, a 17-year-old, is charged with four counts of burglary and four counts of grand larceny.

Damoni Omar Bailey, 18, of Lynchburg, faces one possession with the intent to distribute marijuana. Police say he was found when the other two suspects were arrested.

Police say more $5,000 worth of personal property has been recovered from the burglaries, including two firearms and all three stolen vehicles.

The investigation remains active at this time.
