Police and community come together to catch an animal killer

KSNV – LAS VEGAS (KSNV) - Las Vegas police are asking for the public's help finding a cat killer.

A homeowner found the cat hanging from a fence, a rope around its neck, several weeks ago.

"It's really a heinous crime," said Las Vegas Metro Police Detective Robert Sigal.

Nevada Political Action for Animals, a local non-profit organization, is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

Police believe someone captured the cat and then hung it from a chain link fence.

"People who commit these types of heinous crimes are the type of people who will escalate into committing violent crimes against our citizens," Sigal added. "It's our goal, with the public's help, to catch this individual before his violence escalates."
