Police arrest two after reports of shots fired in Roanoke

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Two Roanoke men are facing charges after refusing to follow orders from police during a shooting investigation over the weekend.

Officers were called to Shenandoah Village Apartments just before 3 a.m. on Saturday, for reports of gunshots.

While they were there, police heard several more shots fired.

Officers saw a man, Rodney Dunn, running from the scene. He refused to stop when police asked him to, so officers tackled him.

He was arrested and charged with public intoxication and a handgun he was holding was taken by police.

At the same time, officers stopped a second man, Christopher King, who was trying to leave the parking lot.

Investigators say he refused to get out of the car and kept reaching toward his waistband, where officers found a concealed handgun.

He was arrested and faces several charges, including obstruction of justice, possession of a concealed firearm and DUI.

Both handguns will be tested to see if they match casings found at the scene.
