Lynchburg police searching for car involved in hit-and-run crash

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - The Lynchburg Police Department is looking for a car involved a hit-and-run crash which happened last Thursday.

At about 1:18 p.m., near the intersection of Old Forest Road and Lakeside Drive in Lynchburg, a black Volvo station wagon and a black Mercedes sedan crashed.

After merging and hitting the Volvo's right-front quarter panel, the driver of the Mercedes drove away, according to police. The suspect's Mercedes had a Florida license plate with number 972JMC and the driver was described as an elderly white woman, while the passenger was identified as an elderly white man. Based on the initial investigation, police believe that the passenger is James G. Williams, of Florida.
