Franklin County teen dies in crash on Route 607

FRANKLIN COUNTY (WSLS 10) - State police are investigating a crash that killed a 16-year-old Franklin County boy on Saturday.

On October 1, at 12:57 p.m., Joshua Hodges, 16, was driving on Route 607, south of Route 761 in Franklin County when he ran off the right side of the road, lost control and hit a tree, according to state police.

Hodges was wearing his seat belt while driving the 1999 Ford Ranger and police say he died at the scene.

Preliminary investigation indicates speed may have been a contributing factor.

The crash remains under investigation.
