Dozens of Virginians kick off what they say is a first-of-its-kind, three-day picket outside of Governor Terry McAuliffe's Richmond offices to underline a clear and simple call to action.  Their message is "Yes, you can protect us from fracked-gas pipelines, toxic coal ash, and rising sea levels." Virginians directly affected by the proposed Mountain Valley Pipeline and Atlantic Coast Pipeline will be there. They want to the Governor to use his executive power to three things:

Reject permits for fracked-gas pipelines using state authority under the Clean Water Act. Require Dominion and other utilities to permanently protect Virginia waterways from toxic coal ash. Commit to serious clean energy and adaptation solutions to keep coastal communities above water. A family from Giles County will be there. Don Jones and his 86-year-old father George Jones, part of a 10th-generation Virginia family whose property would be bisected by the Mountain Valley Pipeline.
