Two men charged in connection to sexual assault in Radford

RADFORD (WSLS 10) - Radford City Police have arrested two suspects in connection to reports of sexual assault.

The assaults were reported on Sunday, at about 2:15, in the 400 block of Jefferson Street. The two suspects originally identified have been arrested and remain in the New River Valley Regional Jail without bond, with arraignments set for Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.

Justin Godfrey Fahringer, 29 of Radford, and Matthew Blake Moles, 29 of Hiwassee have been charged with the following felonies:

  • Conspire to Commit Abduction
  • Conspire to Commit Rape
  • Abduction
  • Rape
  • Forcible Sodomy
  • Aggravated Sexual Battery

This investigation remains ongoing.

Radford Police also reported another sexual assault of a female juvenile that happened on Saturday between 11:00 PM and 12:00 AM in the 1100 block of Fairfax Street in Radford. This incident also remains under investigation and does not appear to be related to the first reported incident.
