Historic Virginia school vandalized, officials say

LEESBURG, Va. (AP) - Officials in Loudoun County are investigating after a historic schoolhouse was found vandalized with graffiti.

County officials said in a statement Saturday that the Old Ashburn Schoolhouse on Ashburn Road was found vandalized with "offensive and vulgar graffiti" including racist messages. The school is a one room building that is currently being restored.

The school was built in the nineteenth century to educate African-American children in the area.
