DALEVILLE (WSLS 10 SPORTS) -
The Lord Botetourt Cavaliers hosted fellow Blue Ridge opponent William Byrd Thursday night. It was a battle back and forth throughout the night.
In the first set, the Cavs Emma Layman had a big spike to give her team an early 3 point lead. A few plays later her teammate, Brooklyn Shelton, came up big with another spike that gave LB the set one win 25-22.
The second set was much of the same but the Terriers caught fire late as Maddy Nance had a nice block to tie it up at 21. A few plays later Lauren Heck made a nice effort on the save but it doesn't stay in play and the Cavaliers took set two by the same score, 25-22.
Lord Botetourt was too much to handle in the third set- they go on to win in straight sets over William Byrd. In the process they remain undefeated in the Blue Ridge District.
