Dozens sign up for 100 Fearless Men Movement

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - A local pastor wants the Roanoke community to come together to stop the violence.

The pastor at Paradise Cathedral Community Outreach Center held a really at Eureka Park for the 100 Fearless Men Movement.

Organizers said the goal was to sign men and women up to be trained to go out in the community to interrupt violence by finding out the needs in the area.

"I believe an ounce of prevention an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure and so the 100 fearless men will be that ounce of prevention" Bishop Joseph Mayo said.

Organizers said the next stop is to have a meeting to educate and train people who signed up to serve the community.

"We have lives that matter in this world, white or black, all lives matter in this community and we want to keep it safe," De-Shawn Hancock said.
