ROANOKE (WSLS 10) – For those driving throughout the Roanoke Valley, you may have seen a hot dog traveling on four wheels on Thursday.
The iconic Oscar Mayer Wienermobile is in town as part of the vehicle’s 80th birthday celebration.
The Wienermobile made a stop on Thursday afternoon in Salem.
Issac Wilker, the man behind the wheel, said it’s all about making people happy.
“It’s a wonderful way to get the word out about the brand while bringing magic and joy into people’s lives,” explained Wilker.
“It brings out the good ol’ memories of baseball games, kids running around grabbing the hot dogs, the song. The Oscar Mayer song. Good memories,” said Michael Whitlock, who lives in Salem.
The Wienermobile is making two additional stops before leaving. You can catch it at the Brandon Avenue Kroger from 11:30 a.m to 2:30 p.m. and at the Brambelton Kroger from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
