UPDATE: Mother and daughter killed in head-on crash in Bedford County

Update: 8:14 a.m.

BEDFORD COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Virginia State Police say a woman and her daughter have been killed in a head-on collision.

Driver of Explorer – 21-year-old Shayna Darlene Alls, of Moneta and her Two-year-old daughter died in the crash.

The crash occurred Tuesday morning at 6:04 on Stewartsville Road.

Police are still on the scene and say the driver of the pickup truck, involved in the collision, is 59-year-old Kevin James Corwin of Roanoke.

Police say Alls ran off the right side of road lost control, hitting Corwin's pickup head-on.

Police have not said the cause for Alls losing control.

BEDFORD COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Virginia State Police is investigating a two vehicle crash in Bedford County, 1 half-mile east of the light on Stewartsville Road.

The road is blocked and will be for some time.

The crash occurred at 6:04 am and is a head-on.


(WSLS 10) - The Bedford County Sheriff's Office says a two-vehicle crash happened on Stewartsville Road.

Deputies say the crash happened shortly after 6 a.m. on Tuesday on VA-24, Stewartsville Road, about a half-mile east of Jordantown Road.

According to VDOT, all west lanes are closed. Traffic is being diverted onto Route 619, onto Route 796, onto Route 635 and back onto VA-24.
