1 man killed, three others shot in Lynchburg overnight

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) – A man was killed and three others were hospitalized after an overnight shooting in Lynchburg. Police are still looking for the shooter.

According to the Lynchburg Police Department, it happened in the area of 421 Rivermont Avenue at The Ellington Building shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday morning.

Police were called to the scene at 2:11 a.m. after a report of shots fired came in to the police department. When police arrived, officers found four people had been shot. Shawn L. Johnson, 21, of Lynchburg was killed during the shooting. Johnson was shot in the midsection of his body and was pronounced dead at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Kevin J. Foxx, 30, of Lynchburg is receiving treatment for several gunshot wounds and is listed in critical condition. Jamall D. Randolph, 28, of Lynchburg was also shot and is receiving treatment for non-life threatening injuries. He is expected to recover. Angelena C. Garland, 25, of Lynchburg was shot and is receiving treatment. She is also expected to recover.

According to witnesses at the scene, the shooter is described as driving a dark colored four door sedan. He fired several shots from the vehicle. His license number is unknown. No further description is available.

No arrests have been made. The homicide and malicious wounding investigation is still underway.
