Roanoke-made 'Crossing Streets' now available on nationwide streaming service

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - A movie filmed entirely in Roanoke now has the opportunity to make an impact across the country.

"Crossing Streets" is now available on Pure Flix. The film focuses on many issues that ministry leaders see at Straight Street in Roanoke.

One of the film's stars, Jen Lilley, is from Roanoke.

The organization, located in downtown Roanoke, helps teens with issues such as drug abuse pregnancy and crime.

Straight Street Director Keith Farmer said seeing "Crossing Streets" debut on Pure Flix is humbling, but it's also an opportunity to make a difference.

"The crisis situations teens deal with here, they deal with cross the United States," explained Farmer. "So we're excited that some of the situations are touched on in this movie people would be able to see how they're resolved and how they can make a difference."

The film was produced locally by Alexander Films out of Blue Ridge and has won several awards.
