Louisa Co. Sheriff's Office Investigating Reported Abduction

LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - Deputies with the Louisa County Sheriff's Office are aggressively searching for a woman and the man they believe abducted her.

Investigators want to hear from anyone who may have seen 47-year-old Lisa Crane and 43-year-old Russell Jefferies.

Deputies responded to Jonnie Hall Road in Mineral after 8:37 a.m. Thursday, September 15, after a caller said a woman was abducted at gunpoint.

The Louisa County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Crane is a bus driver for Louisa County Public Schools, but she was not on school premises. It happened after she had finished her route.

Authorities think Jefferies is the man who took Crane. He's believed to be armed and dangerous.

They also believe there were also two other men involved.

"I have been informed they could be possibly toward the Culpeper area, we are looking toward that way. We are doing an investigation with other agencies, as well, investigating at that time and we are actively tracking and investigating the situation," said Tabethia Cosner, Louisa County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer.

The suspect may be driving a gray 4-door, late model Honda or Mazda.

The sheriff's office believes the victim is in immediate danger.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Louisa County Sheriff's Office at 540-967-1234.
