Pasek pleaded guilty to child endangering, public intoxication and to a seat belt violation. She was sentenced to 180 days in jail and to pay a $280 fine.

The charges stem from a Sept. 7 traffic stop where police say they spotted James Acord, 47, driving erratically along St. Claire Avenue. When officers approached the SUV, Pasek was already unconscious in the passenger seat and Acord passed out a short time later.

Officers snapped a picture of Pasek and Acord with the small face of the child looking on from the backseat.

East Liverpool Police Chief John Lane saidthe photos were posted on Facebook to raise awareness to the heroin epidemic in the region.

The child is currently in the custody of family in South Carolina.

Pasek was granted custody of her relative in July. The child was taken from its mother, Reva McCullough, 25, after Children Services determined she was unfit to care for the boy, according to court documents.

Acord was convicted on child endangering charges last week and was immediately sentenced to nearly one year in jail.
