DANVILLE (WSLS 10) – A wanted man surrendered to police after a stand-off on Thursday afternoon.

The stand-off with 35-year-old Andrew Petrick, of Danville, started at about 9:45 a.m. in the 100 block of Marshall Terrace.

Police initially received a report that Petrick, who is wanted for larceny-related felonies, was in the home on Thursday morning.

When officers arrived at home, he was asleep; however, once they made initial contact, Petrick told them he would not come out, that he had a firearm and that he wouldn’t surrender.

At that point, back-up was called, which led to the stand-off. Shortly after the stand-off began, the man called 911.

After nearly five hours of negotiation with Petrick, he surrendered to members of the SWAT team without incident.

Police determined that he was armed and took him to Danville Regional Medical Center for a mental health evaluation.

Once that’s complete, police say he’ll be taken before a magistrate and served with warrants for two counts of grand larceny and six counts of forgery.
