Trending: Oxford Dictionary adds social media-inspired words


ROANOKE (WSLS 10) – The Oxford English dictionary has added one thousand new words to keep up with the times.

Among them is yolo or “you only live once and ‘merica,short for “America.’

Also, splendiferous, meaning full of or abounding in splendor, and click-bait, referencing websites that post stories to get you to keep on clicking.

Another addition is ‘freemium,’ a combination of the words free and premium.

‘Uh-oh’ and ‘slacktivists’ were also included.
