Layman Family Farms gears up to open Charlie Brown corn maze

BLUE RIDGE (WSLS 10) – This weekend, Layman Family Farms in Blue Ridge opens for the fall season.

This year, the farm’s unique 8-acre corn maze, which took months to build, is of Charlie Brown and Snoopy. The owners said they wanted to feature the “Peanuts” characters in light of its 50th anniversary, and so are 60 other farms across the country.

“We work with a company called Maze Inc. and they help design the maze and put it on paper for us,” said Owner Eric Layman. “Then we’ll start constructing it about the 15th of June. We’re just about done. We should have the final touches on it by Friday.”

The farm will open September 17 through November 12.

The farm also offers hayrides, pumpkin picking, a haunted house and games for kids.
