LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) – James Pavlis, who escaped from the Blue Ridge Regional Jail on Monday morning, has been captured.

He had been missing for a period of about 60 hours. The 22-year-old went missing at about 6:45 a.m. and it’s believed he escaped under a fence.

Administrator Tim Trent with the Blue Ridge Regional Jail said Pavlis was captured on Concord Turnpike in Lynchburg at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police received a tip that Pavlis had been seen in that area near the James River, and used tracking dogs to follow his trail.

Trent says an investigation is ongoing and any further charges will come through the Lynchburg Police Department.

Trent says it is not thought at this time that Pavlis had any help while on the run.
