(WSLS 10) - The City of Danville holds a River District Stakeholders meeting tonight. Representatives from Danville Utilities will talk about recent power outages and plans for upgrades to the Bridge Street Substation. Information and services about the Virginia Main Street Program will also be talked about.

Virginia Tech will conduct a test of the VT Alerts systems today between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. A text alert will be sent out, the message will appear on electronic message board and the campus sirens will sound. If you live or work on the campus, you are encouraged to log in to the alerts system and update your preferences.

Preserve Montgomery County's holds a meeting tonight about the Mountain Valley Pipleline Draft Environmental Statement. The group will review public comments, look at the environmental review process and landowner rights. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Christiansburg Library.

Cast members from Cirque Du Soleil's Ovo we be at the Science Museum of Western Virginia for a meet and greet this afternoon. Performances of the show open at the Berglund Center Wednesday and run through Sunday. Tickets start at $35.50.

The United Way of Roanoke Valley holds its Day of Caring today. Volunteers will give back to the community by working on several projects for individuals and non-profits. Registration starts this morning at 9 a.m. at River's Edge Sports Complex with volunteers working from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
