At times we've seen Virginia Tech show signs that they can be explosive offensively but it's been overshadowed by their lack of discipline. Coach Fuente says their issues with ball security is something that has to be fixed.
"We must, it's not an option to get that fixed and that a matter is a result of several things", said head coach Justin Fuente.
"One, we have to do a better job technically and then there's a little bit of toughness and selflessness that goes into holding on to the football that we haven't had."
The Hokies are hoping to have a better week at practice as players on both sides of the ball say that the team came out flat last week leading up to the game against Tennessee.
"I can't really put my finger on it, just flat", said quarterback Jerod Evans.
"We didn't have the same urgency that we should have came out with that Tuesday and Wednesday of Tennessee week."
"It just felt like practice was dead like", said linebacker Andrew Motuapuaka.
"We were just like going through the motions from the leaders down so we're trying to do a better job this week by just leading by example."
Now the Hokies will have their work cut out for them this Saturday as they open conference play against Boston College. The Eagles currently lead the ACC in total Defense.
