Pulaski County's Thomas is Week 3 Player of Week

DUBLIN (WSLS 10 SPORTS) - A new chapter was penned in Pulaski County's long and storied high school football history on Friday night in Rocky Mount.

Senior running back Hunter Thomas ran where no Cougar had run before. He carried the ball 19 times for 305 yards and found the endzone four times. The touchdown runs spanned 47, 28, 88 and 11 yards.

His yards per rush for the game, an astounding 16.05 per carry.

He set the Cougars' single-game rushing mark, eclipsing a record that's stood for 15 seasons. The senior back helped carry Pulaski County to a resounding 45-6 win over Franklin County.

In doing so, Hunter Thomas earns the title as the Week 3 Schewels 1st and 10 Player of the Week.
