Lynchburg police consider escaped Blue Ridge Jail inmate dangerous

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - Lynchburg Department of Emergency Services has reported that an inmate has escaped from the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.

Police say guards noticed 22-year-old James Richard Pavlis missing at about 6:54 a.m. He is believed to have escaped under a fence.

He has been violent in the past and should be considered dangerous, according to police.

He is 5'10", 178 pounds, and has brown hair, a goatee/beard, and hazel eyes. He has a large tattoo on right side of neck that reads, "Loyalty," and also has tattoos on his forearms.

Police say he is possibly wearing a white t-shirt with blue athletic shorts and black rubber boots.

His direction of travel is unknown at this time but he is believed to be on-foot, in the downtown, area and may have possibly changed out of his jail issued clothing.
