Armed robbery suspect in Henry County turns himself in

HENRY COUNTY (WSLS 10) - The man who was wanted in Henry County on federal charges has turned himself in to police.

21-year-old Deundrae S'avon Gregory turned himself in at the Henry County Magistrate's Office on Thursday, at about 11:56 p.m., on warrants of armed robbery and the use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The warrants were served on him along with a felony uttering charge from Danville.

On Wednesday, at approximately 8:05 p.m., the Martinsville/Henry County Emergency 911 Center received a call of a robbery that happened in the parking lot of Family Dollar in Axton. The victim, 26-year-old Christina Gonzalez, was meeting Gregory to buy a cell phone. She had spoken with him using Facebook and they agreed to meet at Family Dollar.

She arrived at with her husband and child to meet him in the parking lot, and police say, after a brief conversation Gregory pulled out a gun and pointed it at her.  He ran away with an undisclosed amount of money, and the phone he was supposed to sell to her.

Gregory is being held in the Henry County Jail without bond.
