Round Town: music and festivals

(WSLS 10) - Thousands of people will be in Salem this weekend for Olde Salem Days. It features arts and crafts from vendors throughout the region. There's also food and a car show. Olde Salem Days runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in downtown.

The Lime Kiln Theatre in Lexington hosts the 2016 Rockbridge Beer and Wine Festival. Eleven Virginia wineries and eight craft brewers will be there. Tickets are $25 at the gates with non-tasters getting in for $15. It's Saturday from noon to 7 p.m.

The Roanoke Symphony Orchestra presents Parts at the Pops. The orchestra will play hits from Billy Ocean, including, "When the Going Gets Tough," "Loverboy," and "Get Outta My Dreams, Get into My Car." Tickets start at $32. The show is Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at the Salem Civic Center.

The Riner Volunteer Fire Department holds a car show on Saturday. In addition to the cars, trucks and motorcycles, there will be food, entertainment and a raffle. It's from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Auburn High School.

Glen Maury Park in Buena Vista is home to the Mountain Music and Dance Festival this weekend. This is the 30th year for the event. It kicks off Friday night and continues through the day on Saturday. Admission is $14 for a day pass or $25 for the weekend.

Martinsville is home to the Paint the Town 5K on Saturday. The run/walk benefits Communities Helping Improve Local Lives, a teen group promoting healthy lifestyles. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with the one mile fun run at 9 a.m. and the 5K at 10 a.m.
