Police identify driver involved in fatal Henry County hit-and-run crash

HENRY COUNTY (WSLS 10) - State police have recovered the vehicle they say was involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash on Saturday.

State police also say they've identified the driver involved in the crash.

Police have not released the driver's identity at this time.

On Saturday, a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle was going north on Route 220 at the Route 58 bypass when it was hit by the vehicle police have now recovered, according to state police.

The driver of the motorcycle, Jeffery Curtis Hairston, 58, of Martinsville, was in the roadway and was then struck by a 2007 Mazda CX-7 which was also traveling north on Route 220.

Hairston was wearing a helmet and died at the scene.

State police also thanked the media and the public for the coverage as well as the tips received regarding this investigation.
