Forest man sentenced to six years for deadly drunk driving crash

BEDFORD COUNTY (WSLS 10) - The driver involved in a deadly crash that killed a Bedford County teen will spend six years in prison.

Christian Riddle, of Forest, was sentenced on Tuesday on charges of involuntary manslaughter, DWI and DWI with maiming.

He crashed his friend's car on October 17, according to court records.

Riddle was traveling north on Route 1240 when state police say he ran a stop sign and struck an embankment. He was not wearing his seat-belt and was transported to a nearby medical center for treatment before being released.

The passengers of the vehicle, 18-year-old Ivy Taylor Adkins and a 14-year-old female were not wearing their seat-belts and were also transported by EMS for treatment.

Adkins died from her injuries, while her 14-year-old cousin was badly hurt.
