Thousands attend Buena Vista Labor Day Parade

BUENA VISTA (WSLS 10) - The election season is off to its unofficial start following the annual Labor Day event in Buena Vista.

Candidates on both sides of the aisle marched through the downtown area as part of the Labor Day parade.

Local leaders said about 1,500 to 3,000 people attended Monday's event that organizers want to continue.

"We're working for 50, we got to work toward that hopefully we can come up with something big for that," Mayor of Buena Vista Larry Tolley said.

The parade has gone through downtown for 46 years.
