Police investigate overnight shooting in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - Police say an 18-year-old was shot Wednesday morning in Lynchburg.

At 12:36 a.m. on Wednesday, officers with the Lynchburg Police Department responded to the 3000 block of Memorial Avenue to a report of a malicious wounding. Afterwards, later an 18-year-old man arrived at  Lynchburg General Hospital suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

He reported that he was shot and said the suspect vehicle was a four-door sedan, last seen traveling on Oakley Avenue in the direction of Fort Avenue (City Stadium).

He was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released.
