(WSLS 10) - A Danville woman, who plead guilty to accessory after the fact for her involvement in a murder earlier this year, returns to court today. According to the Danville Circuit Court website, Jeni Merricks plead guilty in July. Three others face charges in connection to the shooting death of Devontaye Johnson. He was found shot to death in February.

Governor Terry McAuliffe hosts the first ever African American Business Summit today in Richmond. The mission of the summit is to connect African American business owners and leaders with state resources to help them grow their companies.

Crews in Danville will lower the water level behind Schoolfield Dam today to perform inspections. Crews will look for any problems as well as the sediment deposits along the banks. The water level started dropping at 5 a.m. The inspection is expected to wrap up around noon. That's when crews will close the gates and allow the reservoir to fill. During the work, the boat ramp at Abreu Grogan Park will be closed.

Good Samaritan Hospice is partnering with the Grandin Theatre for a showing of the documentary "Alive Inside" tonight. The film talks about how music can be used to combat memory loss and restore a sense of self to those suffering. Good Samaritan Hospice will set up a table with information about its Music and Memory program and accept donations to support the program, including buying Ipods and headphones. The documentary will play at 7:15. Admission is free.

First year students at Roanoke College will commit today to living a life of integrity. Tonight they will take a pledge to uphold the schools four pillars, academic excellence, community commitment, service and personal distinction. Night classes begin today with day classes starting tomorrow.
