Students graduated from Youth Conservation Corps

PULASKI COUNTY (WSLS10) Nine students from across the Commonwealth are raising awareness about the safety of the environment.

The group graduated in the Youth Conservation Corps program Saturday afternoon.

The goal is to raise awareness about the environment and complete projects at state parks. .

The students cleaned up the New River Trail and parts of Claytor Lake.

They said they've learned valuable lessons from the program.

"Teamwork is a really important thing when you're doing big projects and that the first thing that comes to mind isn't always the best thing to say and to always think before you talk," Jonae Crump a graduate said.
