National anthem makes pole vaulter stop in his tracks

When the national anthem started playing in the Olympic Stadium, pole vaulter Sam Kendricks stopped mid-attempt, put down his pole and stood at attention. The U.S. Army reservist went on win the bronze medal.

Sportsmanship of Abbey D'Agostino

Abbey D'Agostino and Nikki Hamblin crashed during the first round of the 5000m. Rather than speeding off,  D'Agostino helped Hamblin to her feet. Then when D'Agostino realized that she was injured, Hamblin returned the favor by encouraging her to keep running and finish the race.

Usain Bolt proves he is still the world's fastest man

Usain Bolt swept the three sprinting gold medals in Rio. He is now nine-for-nine in Olympic finals.

Ashton Eaton became the first man since 1984 to repeat as Olympic decathlon champion.

Matthew Centrowitz: Like father, like son

Matthew Centrowitz became the first U.S. athlete to win an Olympic 1500m gold medal since 1908. He became emotional afterwards when shown a video of his father, 1978 Olympian Matt Centrowitz, jumping up and down in the stands.

Galen Rupp is inspired by "Happy Gilmore"

Running 26.2 miles for just the second time, Galen Rupp won the 2016 Olympic marathon bronze medal. After the race, he explained why he was inspired by Adam Sandler's character in the movie "Happy Gilmore."

Allyson Felix won three Olympic medals in Rio. With nine career Olympic medals, she is the most decorated U.S. woman in Olympic track and field history.
