ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - The Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport announced that the Airport Road Tunnel will be inspected on Tuesday
Drivers should expect delays as each side of the tunnel will be separately blocked off, and the lane in the opposite tunnel will be rerouted to accommodate two‐way traffic.

Both the north and southbound lanes will undergo the inspection from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. At no time will both tunnels be closed at the same time.
The inspections come after the poor weather conditions on August 3 and 4.
Those planning to drive on Airport Road/State Route 118 on Tuesday should expect delays and may want to use alternate routes such as I‐581, Thirlane Road or Williamson Road (US‐11).
