Buffaloes are back and in the hunt for winning season

FLOYD COUNTY (WSLS 10 SPORTS) - 2012 was the last time the Buffaloes had a winning season, earning a playoff berth. Coach Winfred Beale is entering his 36th season at Floyd County.

Like many teams, Floyd County worked with the National Guard in  the offseason. They return a handfull of skill position players including wide receiver Josh Bary and his younger brother Ian Bary at quarterback. When it comes to depth though, that is what Floyd County lacks. But the Buffaloes are living the motto "We're thin, but we're going to win."

"You know we just feel like we got to rededicate ourselves and get back to the old blue-collar physical type of football the Floyd used to play," explained Beale.

"We've definitely been struggling for the past two years but I think this year we definitely picked it up we haven't got much more numbers but we just have a lot more heart," said Josh Bary.

Tailback Jack March added, "I think we just have to come together as a team and do everything in practice and practice hard and somehow it yourself come together and every game but I think this year things are going to change."

Floyd County begins it's quest for a winning season on the road at Carroll County on August 26th.
